Bigui was born as Birgit Deuschle in Germany.

Her artist career started in 2000. In this year Bigui moved from Germany to Brazil and stayed there within a decade. Inspired by the culture, nature and colors Bigui was searching for ways to express herself and found a friend, teacher and mentor in the Brazilian artist Nanci Bastos.

Over the next years Bigui and Nanci worked closely together and Bigui developed her own personal style. The richness of nature, the bright sunligt, the overwhelming palette of natural colors formed and shaped the subjects of Bigui's painings, her technique and the intense colors of her artworks up to today.

Today Bigui lives and works as an artist in Bargteheide and Lauchhammer, Germany. Her style has not changed. In her mind each artwork starts in Brazil, it develops itself, layer by layer, envolves around repeating subjects of nature, bright colors, the spirit of a 'new world' until she is satisfied with the expression of her painting and it is ready to receive a polished finish.

She is a member of the Bund Bildender Künstler (German Association of Visual Artists) GEDOK Franken and STELLWERK Kunstkreis Bargteheide e.V.

Over the years Bigui has received invitations to both, national and international exhibitions as well as art fairs and art projects and her artwork has been recognized with the Palm Art Award in 2017/2020 and the Recognition Prize 2018.
